Chris Talago

Executive Vice President and General Manager – EMEA
As head of Waggener Edstrom’s EMEA operations, Chris Talago is responsible for leading and growing the agency’s presence in EMEA, as well as the overall business performance for the region. In this capacity, he works closely with other agency leaders to formulate and deliver a vision for growth and a direct strategy for the agency’s presence in region. Chris takes a leadership role in new business opportunities, consulting with key clients, and integrates those efforts across offices, divisions and practices. On a day-to-day basis, he advises on agency and client communications issues and opportunities, maintains relationships with key media and stakeholders. Additionally, Chris is responsible for developing leadership skills and building a solid senior management team for the region.
Chris came to Waggener Edstrom after serving as EMEA regional head of communications for Advanced Micro Devices Inc., a Fortune 500 technology hardware corporation. While there, he was accountable for all communications strategy and planning within region also leading a multi-disciplinary team integrating PR, AR, marketing-communications, online & new media, brand management, creative development, research and measurement, advertising, sponsorship and events.
Before moving to his post at AMD, Chris was a Board Director for Hill and Knowlton, reporting to the head of the Technology practice, where he was selected to lead Hewlett-Packard EMEA’s Enterprise account, H&K’s flagship UK and global client. Prior to H&K, Chris rose through the ranks at Text 100, another major global PR brand, ultimately leading IBM’s global software group account. Chris has strong international experience, having successfully run three agency offices in New York, Boston and Johannesburg, eventually being awarded the Text 100 global group prize for performance as an agency managing director.
Chris began his career as an Army officer, rising to the level of captain.
